Wall Art

Hi Everyone

I have had such fun this week. I have been wanting to tackle this project for my dining room for some time. It is a design by Ashbee Designs and was created for use on a cutting machine - much easier than it looks but oh so effective. Or at least that’s what I think. Let me know how you feel about it.

Holiday Time

Easter Weekend and I find I haven’t had time to complete any of the creations I have started this week – time does fly.
However, in keeping with the holiday theme I thought I would share with you this veritable treasure trove of all things bead-related that I discovered on holiday last year in Morocco.
From the outside this looked like an ordinary jewellery shop buried deep in one of the souks. But, unlike other jewellery shops, this one sold all the individual components as well as the finished articles. Single beads, strands of beads, findings – you name it, they had more than I could take in.
The exact amounts involved have been conveniently lost in the mists of time but all I will say is that the proprietor had started making discounts before I had finished assembling my haul. If you’ve ever been to Morocco, you’ll know that’s not how bartering normally happens!
The moral of the story is: you never know where you might find your next crafting treasure!

Manly Cards

What a sunny beautiful day!

I have been looking through my stash of cards and noticed that I have almost nothing for the men in my life. So last week I set out to remedy that. I would very much like to know if you think I was successful and whether the cards are sufficiently “manly”.

I have, of course, many more ideas but not the time to complete them, so I have also started a note book of ideas that I would like to get done (one day) – let’s see how that works out!

It’s a cliché, but men do like a sport related card

 And, yes, more sports

Easter is coming

Hi Everyone

I was hopeful I would have a warm craft fair in Port Erin last Saturday but no, it rained.  Having said that it wasn’t a bad day and of course it’s always good to catch up with other crafters.

I made some Easter bits last week: a very cute 3D rabbit which held 4 (yes 4!) egg-sized chocolate eggs and a rabbit box which held 1 chocolate egg. I thought the cupcake wrapper might make a nice finishing touch for cakes made by the children prior to having afternoon tea on Easter Sunday- maybe?
