It's Christmas

Happy Christmas Everyone

Can you believe it? Christmas is here - this week! are you ready?  I am as ready as I can be so bring it on, please.
This week I made myself a jewellery set to wear over the festive season, I think it is girly and just a little chunky to stop it from being too much so.

I will be taking a break for the next two weeks, I hope that you all enjoy the holidays and see you early next year on the 4th of January 2016.

Don’t forget to let me know what you are making.

More Christmas Cards

Good Morning

I set down this week to write my Christmas Cards and realised that I was somewhat short on the amount of cards that I had made.  So I have spent the week whenever I have had time making more Christmas Cards.  I think I now have enough, so all that is left is to finish writing them and send them on their way.

Enjoy the run up to Christmas and let me know what you are getting up to.

Small Gifts

Hi Everyone

It is a scary prospect to wake up and discover that Christmas is just 3 weeks away.  So with this shock under control, I have started to think about small gifts for friends and family.

To this end I have made a lovely pair of gold and red agate ear rings, a gold zari thread Kumihimo bracelet and ear rings, three shell pearl stretchy bracelets and a white zari ribbon  and Rainbow Coated Pyrite bracket.

It would be great, as always, to hear your views on my efforts.

Coffee Cup with Treats

Good Morning

Well, this weekend saw me at my final Craft event for they year and, if you were at the Laxey Working Men’s Institute, I hope you had a good time.

As part of the event I needed to make something to give as a prize for the raffle so I made a Christmas coffee mug and filled it with sweet treats, I was pleased with the results.  I also found in my stash of “necessary stuff” some lip balm, so Made a holder from a pattern for a Santa and snowman, which I think worked rather well.  Let me know what you think.

Gingerbread Houses with Candy Canes

Good Morning

This week I had such a fun time making a gingerbread house which has candy canes coming out of the roof.  It has started me in the Christmas spirit and will take pride of place at my last Christmas fair for the year.

I will be at the Laxey Christmas Market on Sunday 19th November, I hope to see you there as it is always a family fun weekend, poster below.

Wire Woven Jewellery

Good Morning

I hope that you are all coping with the darker days which have arrived with a vengeance.

This week I have been trying out a new skill with wire kumihimo using coils of pre made wire.  It is an interesting technique and I enjoyed the results (after only a few false starts) and only wasting a small amount of wire!

If you were at the St Johns Motor Neurone Disease fair, it was a great day in spite of the weather, I hope you enjoyed it.

As always I love to hear from you all at anytime.

Christmas Tags

Morning All

I made gift tags this week, some which tie on with ribbon and others with have envelopes to go with them.  However, all of them get written on the back so it makes it quick and easy To complete.  The ribbon tags are all of a traditional nature but the larger ones with envelopes are Christmas trees in modern bright colours – something for everyone I hope.

If you were at the Port Erin fair on Saturday then I hope you had a nice time. This week, on Saturday, I will be in St John’s at the Motor Neurone Disease fair, so come in and say Hi, details below.

Christmas Card Holders

Good Afternoon

This week I got to thinking about displaying all the cards we receive over Christmas and, looking around the shops, there seem to be lots of solutions – mainly involving string! So, after ploughing through my stash of “one day” bits and pieces, I have come up with a solution that I think does the job and is nice and bright. It would be great to hear what you think.

If you were at the MSPCA fair on Sunday then I hope you had a nice time. This week, on Saturday, I will be in Port Erin so come in and say Hi, details below.

Pop up Cards

Morning All

Okay, here’s a surprise - I have made yet more Christmas cards! These are pop up cards and I think they are both fun to make and to receive – what do you think?

This Saturday is Halloween and I have decorated my front porch, so I hope you enjoy the photos (and I am looking forward to some visitations!).

Cuff Links etc

Hi Everyone

I was just thinking that I haven’t really made anything for the men in our lives, so I sat down and tackled a few pairs of cuff links, and then I tried my hand at a tie pin. The tie pin gave me cause for a few restarts but I am happy with the end result, and I will try to find time to make a couple more.

Let me know what you think and don’t forget that, with Christmas just around the corner, I will be out and about in November at lots of fairs, I will keep you posted.

Folding Christmas Cards

Good morning

This week I have been playing with more Christmas Cards and I think this is about to become a recurring theme.  I have updated my card list and I need to produce around 40 cards this year - so I will keep going until either they are all done or it‘s the last Christmas posting date!
I like these because they fold out, giving you a good sized space to write in with out it being too big.

I will be at Kirk Braddan Main Hall on Saturday 17th 10:30 to 3:30, and I will be taking my Halloween stuff, so if you are in the area do call in and say hi.

Wire Chokers & Gemstones

Happy Autumn morning

Looking out the window there can be no doubt that Autumn has arrived, what with the rain and the leaves all over the gardens.

For the last week I have been having some fun with wire and largeish gemstones. I was lucky enough to source some 1mm necklace wire chokers so I decided to see what I could make to hang from them. They have taken a while, and there have been some false starts, but I hope you like the end results. It would be great to hear your views.

I will be at my first Christmas Fair on the 1st November, you can see the details below, if you are in the area why not drop by and say Hello?

Stocking Fillers

Morning All

I have been having some fun this last week with my scraps of paper. I wanted to make something that I could use to sell as stocking fillers. So when I noticed that the shops have pencil tops for “Back to School” time I thought this was a great idea for Christmas.

I have located 7 designs which have been both quick and great fun to make. It would be nice to hear what you think of them.
