The Colour Purple

Morning All

This week I have been experimenting with Sari Silk - it is such a beautiful fabric that I wanted to do something unusual with it. I found on the internet a neck piece by a designer, ‘Gemma Crow’, which I wanted to try. I am very pleased with the results even if it did take quite sometime to get the hang of.

Also on the purple theme, I found I have these gorgeous shards of Purple Coated Quartz.  They are just so amazing when the light is on them so I have kept the design very simple.

I hope that you like my offerings this week, I would very much like to hear your views.

Working Space

Hi There Everyone

This week has been quite topsy turvy because my new work desk arrived. It has a glass top (for easy cleaning) with adjustable legs so I can alter its height and angle.

With its arrival I had the upheaval of clearing off the old desk – my picnic table – and then finding places for all my essential stuff to live as my new desk is about half the size it was.

In between times I also made a wedding cake for my friend Ann’s daughter – not perfect but not too bad I think, a shame I piped the most crooked line on the whole cake right at the front!

What do you think, don’t give up on the paper?

Fun for early Summer

Morning Everyone

Goodness, where do the weeks go? They just seem to be disappearing at the moment.

I have made a few pieces of jewellery this week. I like them as they are simple but quite different to what I usually make.

I have also been baking for a charity event held to support the Alzheimer’s Society.

And, to round the week off, I held my children’s workshop in the Strand Centre and we made Ice Cream Cone Boxes which was great fun.

Let me know if you have any comments as I would love to hear from you all.

All about Friends

Good Sunny Morning

Gosh what a busy week that was! 2 days at the Manxaid vintage fair, and a Bank Holiday on Monday, has not left me very much time for crafting.

I have, however, made a couple of nice birthday cards for friends, and upcycled a tin to pop some treats into when I went to a friends for Sunday lunch (a treat for me too!).

I will be in the Strand Centre for the children’s workshop this coming Saturday at 2:30 (to make Ice Cream boxes): the details are below, hope to see you there – there are still a couple of places left.

Ice Cream Cone Box

Morning Everyone

This week I have been giving thought to ideas for my next children’s workshop and have come up with ice cream cone boxes. I made one as a trial and enjoyed it so much I made another two - I hope the children have as much fun making them as I did!  I’ve attached the poster for this workshop below.

I was at Port Erin for a Craft market on Saturday but the weather was awful so not too many people were braving the elements! If you did battle your way through the wind and rain I hope the trip was worth it!

I will be at Port Erin again this coming week (for two days) the details are below, hope to see you there.
