Work in Progress

Morning All

Such a busy week just passed, I found a magazine in which there was an article on making a paper necklace. It looked so great that I decided to have a go. Unfortunately, like most “How to” articles, it was missing pieces of instruction.

Therefore it is still a work in progress but I believe it is going to be worth the time and, so you can see it, I have pinned it to my design bust for display.  If you have any opinions or ideas then please let me know.

You can also see my Easter Mask class with their finished products! This was a lot of fun to do and we all agreed that making masks and eating Easter eggs was better than braving the rain outside.

I will be in Port Erin at St Catherine’s Church Hall, next Saturday the 2nd of April 10:30 to 3:30 - hope to see you then.

Hair Accessories 2

Good Morning

Over the last week I have been putting the finishing touches to some hair accessories which are now available from my hairdresser’s salon; ‘B4 and After’ in Douglas - the details about Nicola and her team are on my contacts page and a there’s a link on the home page.

In the pictures you will see two hair combs – they’re very different, one for a big event and the other for everyday wear and just having fun.  The event comb is made from shell pearl (in both pale blue and pink), rose quartz & Larimar nuggets. The bright comb is made with multi-coloured shell in carved flowers and flat cones, with sea blue long teeth shapes.

I also have a pretty pink shell pearl headband with a flower, which is also made from organic shell shapes. The final pieces are hair clips with tiny flowers made from 2mm Quartzite in various colours.

I was at Braddan Chruch Hall on Saturday so if you called in to say “Hello”, thanks for coming and I hope you enjoyed yourself.

It is two weeks until my next outing which will be in Port Erin at St Cathrine’s Church Hall, 10:30 to 3:30 - hope to see you then.

Stocking Up

Morning All

This week has been a replenishment week - I have been making some lovely spring notelets as well as a few children’s Easter cards, and rounding out the catch up are some memory books.

It was quite soothing to make things that are familiar but using fresh colours and papers, I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have.

Don’t forget I will be at Braddan Church Hall, Douglas this coming Saturday for a local craft fair. It starts at 10:00 and finishes at 3:30 – I hope to see you there.

Hair Accessories

Good Morning

This last week I have been trying out some hair accessory ideas - a jewellery field that I have not ventured into before.

I now have some pieces which I am very happy with: a cream pearl and Haematite headband, a wire flower with shell centre, and a leaf and flower hair vine made from grey shell pearl, Fluorite nuggets and rainbow coated Pyrite. This final piece is what I am most pleased with; I think it is both delicate and robust. It would be great to hear what you think, so drop me a note.

My next craft fair is on Saturday 19th March, at Braddan Church Hall, Douglas. Starting at 10:00 and finishing at 3:30 – I hope to see you there.
