Sewing Machine Box

Morning Everyone

This week I have finally found time to do some paperwork – paperwork always takes me more time to complete because of the measuring, material choices, cutting etc. and I have to be at home to keep an eye on things during the drying time.

So I have made a sewing machine! I purchased the pattern from Snapdragon Snippets and it is great – for some reason they do tell you to cut more pieces then you really need but that’s a minor issue. I think it looks great and I’m very happy with the end result. It is, of course, a box and it is sturdier then I thought it would be.

I am going to be at The Royal Manx Agricultural Show on Saturday 13th

August in the Manx Craft Guilds tent so I hope I will see you there.

Summer Wedding Head Wear

Morning All

The Summer wedding season is upon us and it‘s so nice to be dressing up. I have had a couple of commissions for this very thing and I know that these hair pieces will contribute to the beauty and finery of the occasion.

The first is a hair comb to be worn with a very dark navy dress which is shear on one shoulder. The comb is made with silver and blue Keshi pearls, Druzy and Haematite.

The fascinator is being worn with a stunning purple gown with gold embroidery on the waist band at the centre of the bodice. I have used rainbow coated Pyrite hearts, golden shell pearl, golden and purple coated Quartz and purple colour coated black Agate on a gold headband.

I am very happy with the finished pieces and I would love to hear what you think.

Summer Blue with a Twist

Good Morning Everyone

This week I have finally got around to using a set of Magnesiie stone that I purchased when I was in Morocco a couple of years ago. I thought it was stunning and wanted to use it in such a way so that it could be worn often but also it would draw the eye.

I have set it in the centre of a double strand of Sodalite with Red Magnesiite chips interspersed through the Sodaliie. I think this is a set that can be worn all through the summer for many years to come.

Please let me know what you think and also what you are making.

Fine Wire Work

Morning All

What a busy week I have had, making some fine jewellery and using, for the first time, some precious gem stones – Sapphires.

I am so pleased with the result, the pieces look like something that you could buy from a jewellery shop, so I feel I am making progress with my wire skills.

If you went to the craft fair in Port Erin on Saturday, I hope you had a great time. Sorry I couldn’t make it but I hope to see you soon, and will keep you posted where and when I will be out and about.
