Knotted Heart

Good Morning

Not much time to craft this last week, or for a few weeks to come, as I am covering for a friend at work who is getting married.

So my quickish make last week was a knotted strand of mixed gems stones with a heart connecter at the front.  I finished it off with some macramé on the back to slide over a bead to close.  I enjoyed the make and thought it would be quick but, alas, it never is. Because I haven’t knotted for a while it took me a few attempts to get it right – still, I like the results.

Let me know what you think and, as always, what you are making.

Paper Wreath

Morning

My friend at JJ Ribbons recently stocked some wreath frames and asked me to make a couple of wreaths to display in the shop.  So, having given it some thought, I decided that as my first love is paper I would take a selection of the old wall paper she had provided me with and see what came to mind.

Using my cutting machine, I chose six designs of leaves and cut them from a number of different papers and in various sizes.  I also chose a design for a flower to be cut in a solid colour card and, with some feather butterflies from my stash, I set about creating the wreath.

The results are below for your perusal, I will be creating another over the next couple of weeks, but look forward to hearing your views and comments on this one.

Silver & Black Wire

Good Morning

Over the last week I decided to play with some wire.  After a couple of false starts, I spent the week making this black and silver neck piece with clear quartz droplets.

The base is a three strand plat, and each strand has three wires.  I then spent some time making gizmo coils of both silver and black and then some of the two colours together.  After much playing (the fun part) I finally decided on the layout and it came together in the design you see below, which looks beautiful.

Let me know what you are up to and what you think of my creations.

Winter Brooch & Valentine Fun

Hi, and Good Morning

Gosh, I can’t believe it, we are already in February and the first celebration of the year, Valentine’s Day, is just around the corner.

This week, I have made the only item I will be making for this year’s celebration.  I found this cute set of coupons to give a loved one as a fun gift.  They were quick and easy to make and I am sure they will bring a smile to the face of the recipient.

I have also had fun making a brooch for my winter coat.  I asked a friend to crochet me some fuchsias in my chosen colours of green and brown and then I have put them together with wire to make this finished brooch.

I hope you like this week’s makes so let me know what you think of my creations.
