Neat & Clean Necklaces

Hi, Morning

This week I made some very quick necklaces which I love.  Sometimes it’s good not to over think it and just let the gemstones be the focal point by keeping it neat and clean.

I have used some pink and blue jasper which are chips that have been reconstituted but the effect is just beautiful; these are on leather cord.  Also, to give some variety, I purchased a sterling silver set amber pendent, and a rose quartz which is gold electroplated - they are on sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver chains.

To finish I have also put some Heshi jasper on waxed cord which I think will be great for the summer, and is gender neutral.

Now that spring is well and truly here, let me know what you have been making.

Pop Up Cards

Morning Everyone

So, we are on the last day of the Easter Weekend, it has been glorious weather and I am sorry that it is over, a great long weekend.

I have been making some cards in the last few days, more of the beautiful engineered cards from http://popupology.co.uk . They are fun to make and don’t take too long once you get the hang of them.

I hope you like them as much as I do, let me know what you are making.

Big is Beautiful

Hi

I have been working on a commission for a friend over the last couple of weeks and this week I finished and delivered it. The brief was to make a big pearl statement necklace in the style of Vivian Westwood.

So, I used 20mm round shell pearls as the base and added 12mm shell pearls to complete the neckline, then also made a beady bead from the 12mm shell peals in the centre.  Next, I added a further beady bead made from 6mm shell pearls, then wrapped both beady beads in gold coloured wire and then dropped three gold plated sterling silver skulls from the bottom - it was complete.

I love this necklace, and so does my friend, and we would love to hear what you think about it.

Easter Happiness

Hi fellow crafters

I have been working on some Easter stuff for a few weeks and I finally finished just in time for the Easter Market next weekend (13th and 14th April) in Chester Street, Douglas.

I have made them all out of 300 gms card with various card or paper decorations and gemstones with lots of glitter for good measure.  I have two large rabbits, two medium rabbits, four small creatures (two rabbits and two chickens), six carrots, one basket and 1 egg shaped box.  I think these will make an impressive display on my stall and hopefully they will be a hit with the fair goers.

It would be great to hear what you think and if you are attending then do stop by and say hello.

Steam Punk

Hello

I have been  wanting to try something a bit steam punkish so, this week, I thought that the beautiful African Jasper rounds I recently bought were just what I needed to inspire me.  I had in my stash some antique bronze toggle clasps which I have been waiting to use in a project and I think they look awesome. To finish the pieces I have added some small Aquamarine rounds because the colour just looks right to me.

My next outing will be the Easter Fair on 13th and 14th of April in Chester Street, Douglas, I hope you make a plan to visit the Market.
