Fun with Spanners

Hi Everyone

This week’s inspiration has come from my partner in art and fun, Fuzzy Designs, who produces the wonderful Spanner Art featured on my blog from time to time.

This piece is such fun and on a slightly different track from the usual. The original inspiration was Day of the Dead imagery but that evolved into something more geometric although keeping a very colourful theme.

It’s certainly bright but it is also very heavy! The back board itself is about thirty inches square of MDF with a pair of substantial spanners thrown in. Probably best suited to be displayed on a stand or a very solid wall!

I am next at the Laxey Working Men’s Institute on Saturday 15th June - I look forward to seeing you there.

Summer at the Beach

Morning Everyone

This last week I have finished a beautiful Kumihimo necklace which I have been working on for a little while.  It is colour graduated and consists of sodalite, neon apatite and amazonite. I love the weight of this piece and flow of colour, I hope you like it too.

I also made a quick piece because I received some new wire which moves from pink to purple. So I have created a very simple necklace and ear rings from circles in the pink/ purple wire together with some gold patterned wire, and a gold coated pyrite drop in the centre.

I am at the Laxey Working Men’s Institute next weekend on Saturday 15th June - I look forward to seeing you there.

More Pop Up Cards

Hi, good morning

This is the last lot of the beautiful engineered cards from http://popupology.co.uk . They are fun to make and don’t take too long once you get the hang of them.  They are also hugely popular with everyone that has received one, especially the boys – big and small!

I am at the Laxey Working Men’s Institute next weekend on Saturday 18th May so if you are in the area call in and say Hi.
