Fairy Dust

Hi Everyone

This last week I got to thinking what would small people like as a gift from the Isle of Man, and my thoughts went through lots of stuff but kept coming back to fairies.  I have made fairies in many guises but not the stuff of dreams – Fairy Dust. So after some unsuccessful ideas I decided to go with the easiest and most obvious option - Fairy Dust in a bottle, so here it is. Some of it is in layers, some in only one colour, some in large bottles and some in small. Then it was all about the packaging and I am very pleased with that too.

It was so much fun to do this project, so let me know what you think.

Bangles with Colour

Good morning

I have been getting ready for one of the bigger summer shows we have on the Island and I have decided to make some very pretty bangles.  I have previously made them in silver, gold and copper but this time I have some lovely diamond cut wire and I think they look great.  I hope they will be very popular with the fair attendees but only time will tell.

Let me know what you think - I will be at the Southern Agricultural Show

at Great Meadow, Malew Road, Castletown on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July from 10:00 to 5:00 both days. I hope to see you there.

Red & Black

Morning All

Over the last couple of weeks I have been working on a commission for a red and black necklace, which needed to have a heart pendent with red overtones to wear at a commemorative event.

I first decided to make the necklace out of aluminium chain which I had in both red and black, and I then put a gentle twist in the chains but they still lay fairly flat around the neck.  Next up was a red glass heart which I thought looked great but, because it could be a bit loud, I also decided to make a wire heart with one side black and the other in red. They are bound together randomly with both black and red wire and on the red wire are ten 2mm faceted garnets which sparkle as it moves on the neckline.

After showing the client both hearts they chose the wire heart and was very pleased with it. I would love to hear what you think about this project.

Animal Cards

Hi Everyone

I have had more time to play this week and therefore have been making children’s animal cards.  They were so much fun to make but, of course, it took much longer than I thought it would because it always takes me much longer to choose the paper than it should, what can I say!

As always it would be great to hear from you, let me know what you are making this summer.

Sterling Silver

Good morning everyone

While looking at my stash this week, I decided to do some simple makes using sterling silver.  I have been slowly purchasing chains and findings with some pre-made pendants, so these are the results of me adding chains and findings.

They are classic jewellery that you would find in your local jewellery shop, so I hope you like them.

As always, it would be great if you got in touch and let me have your thoughts, ideas and comments.
