Morning all
Another visitation from Fuzzy Designs today
(partner in craft to Briarpatchdesigns). This creation was an attempt to use up
some small sheets of glass I was given but, like a lot of projects, it got more
involved than I had expected.
I thought it might be fun to use the glass to
create a really deep 3D effect. Because I wanted the images to look flush, they
had to be painted in reverse on the back of each sheet (the same way that shop
windows are painted) and that meant breaking each image down into its component
colours and applying them one at a time.
The next problem was that the glass sheets
were not identical in size (although they looked it) so the frame had to have a
bit of play on all sides and that was carefully filled with sealant.
Finally, each sheet had to be surgically
clean to avoid multiple reflections from the sheets in front and behind it – a lot
of polishing went on to achieve that!
Of course, all those reflective surfaces
meant it was nearly impossible to photograph without swamping the images with
reflections but hopefully you get the idea from the photos.
Whatever you are making or thinking then
please let me know.
