Tigers Eye

Good Morning Everyone

I hope you are all staying healthy and getting lots of crafting done. This last week I have had a bit of a Tigers Eye (gemstone) frenzy.  It is such a beautiful stone that when I came across them in my stash I couldn’t wait to use them.

The first suite has been made with some layout bars and an original design I saw on Jewellery Maker by Claire. It is not too difficult, you just need to have all the components first and then put them together. The second is a 3D necklace made from tubes which just seemed to be perfect for a cube.  It took me some time to find a way which would allow me to keep the structure both rigid and secure but I finally got there and I really like the results.

Don’t forget to let me know what you think of my jewellery and what you are making.

Easter Top Hat

Hi Everyone

Well, now that most of us are stuck at home, I have much more time to enjoy my crafting.  On the other hand, I have no craft fairs to sell my creations – still, I will carry on making, which is the most fun part after all.

With Easter coming up I made this fun Mad Hatter’s tea party/ Easter top hat.  It is a pattern from Dreaming Tree (https://www.3dsvg.com/), it was really fun to make if a little fiddley as well.  I love how this looks and hopefully you will too.

I would love to hear your views - also, what you are making?

Bracelets in many Colours

Good morning

I have been making some bracelets for my craft fair stash this week.

There’s quite a variety of styles: some are macramé with 925 Sterling Silver connectors and others with small silver & bronze seed beads. Another variation is with memory wire and Kumihimo both with lovely gemstone chips – I think they are all are beautiful in their own way.  Lastly some gemstone roundels in gorges colours.

I hope you like them and would love to hear your views - also, what you are making?

The Return of Spanner Art

From Fuzzy Designs

Although most of my Spanner Art has involved decorating spanners themselves, sometimes they don’t need more than a polish to take their place in a creation.

In this case, the spanner in question had obviously led a hard life (one set of jaws had been welded and machined for some unknown purpose) but polishing it brought out a wonderful shine that seemed a shame to cover.

So, instead I simply mounted it at an angle and worked some pinstriping around it in contrasting colours. The biggest headache was getting the pinstriping accurately mirrored on both sides of the spanner but a piece of tracing paper proved invaluable in sorting that out!

I attended the 1st craft fair for the year on Saturday so if called in then I hope you have a great time and found something nice to take home.  We would love to hear your views also, what you are making?

Lots of Ear Rings

Morning Everyone

Over the last week or so I have been making earrings for the coming year of craft fairs.

There’s quite a variety of styles: some are 925 Sterling Silver charms on 925 Sterling Silver findings, others are fun tasselled earrings with lovely gem stone rounds, and yet others are exquisite pearls - all are beautiful in their own way.

I hope you like them and would love to hear your views also, what you are making?
