Total Shell

Hello

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sun when it’s about.

Over the last week I have been using shell, which is one of favourite mediums - this necklace and ear rings are made from beautiful white shell pears and deep purple shell pearls.  I think the finished pieces are perfect for day or evening wear as well as being super classy.

Quick Makes

 Hi Everyone

Over the last week I have made some simple but I think impactful jewellery.  The first is a long 30 inch necklace in rose gold colour featuring rose gold coated druzy quartz and seed beads.

The second is a full suite featuring square cut agate dyed in a variety of colours with gold chain to make it more visually interesting.

I love it all and, as always, let me know what you think and what you are making in your crafty world

Angler Spanner Fish

Good morning everyone

This week sees the return of Spanner Art!

This was a quick project which came together with minimal fuss once I’d visualised the vague outline of a fish in a small spanner lurking at the bottom of my “one day” pile of metal.

After engraving a scale pattern I decided to give it an unusual twist by applying the very drab colours found on deep water occupants such as the angler fish and, to finish the look, added a suspended luminous blob like those used by angler fish to lure in their prey. Turn off the lights and the blob is very visible.

Simple, but very effective!

As always let me know what is happening in your crafty world

Soft Material Jewellery

Hi Everyone

For a while I have had customers asking me for jewellery using different types of materials so, this week, I have made two very individual necklaces.

The first is made from a mixture of banana yarn and silk thread in the most vibrant green with lots of gold plated rings in the centre.

The second is made from 1mm satin cords which I have used to make a kumihimo braid holding abalone hearts.

It was really fun to think a little bit differently and I thoroughly enjoyed the results. Let me know what you think - it’s always fun to hear from you.
