Holiday Shells

Good morning

I would like to think that we are approaching a beach holiday, be it at home or abroad, and so my mind has turned to shells and the jewellery I would like to wear on my holiday.

The first necklace is a pretty pink fan shell which I have drilled and hung a variety of charms and beads from on leatherette.  The second is a large round piece of mother of pearl which I have strung on hemp with cowrie shell and ear rings to match.

This jewellery is so light and easy to wear, not to mention pretty and fun.

Let me know what you are making; I would love to hear about it.

Book Marks Galore

 Hello

I’ve noticed recently that a lot more people seem to be reading books (paper variety) again and I just hate it when pages are turned down instead of using a book marker – so, guess what I have been making this week? Yes, you’re right, a variety of book markers, these are all double sided and come in different sizes - but all are fun to use and own.

I really hope you like the end results, I had a great time making them.  I have a craft fair next weekend, Saturday 22nd at Laxey Workingmen’s Institute so if you have some spare time why not call in and say Hi?

Let me know what you are making; I would love to hear about it.

Shiny Shell

Hi, morning

With Covid restrictions lifting at last, I decided to make some mother-of-the-bride wedding jewellery.  I chose to use some lovely pale blue shell mosaic beads with baby blue shell pearls.  The combination works so well, I just love it.

I had three beads left over so decided to make a simple pair of ear rings, and then played with the single remaining bead and some 2mm blue agate rounds. As I am not really a seed beader, it took me a few tries but I got there in the end and I am happy with the finished necklace.

Don’t forget to let me know what you are making; I would love to hear about it.

Lots of Mookite

Morning

After having learned that the colour of the season is bright mustard, I went looking through my Mookite stash.  This is Jasper found only in Australia and I just love the range of colours it come in, from rusty red to pale cream and lots in between.

So I have used three cabochons, the first is a rectangular slab in mustard and I have kept it simple with a small gold bale and a wire rose to dangle from the bale.  The second is a trilante which is multi coloured and that has been set in gold aluminium wire claws so that you can see all of the stone.  The third is a pretty donut in pale cream and I have used both gold and antique bronze wire to create a swirling design around the stone.

All the pieces are special in their own way and could be worn everyday with ease.

Don’t forget to let me know what you are making; I would love to hear about it.
